We love the staff here - we've been attending for 2 years now - however - I wouldn't recommend this centre to anyone due to the fees being out of hand. They now charge over $200 a day which means a lot of it isn't covered by CCS as it is (well) over $150 (which is the cap) - so it isn't ideal for high or low income earners. Everytime the subsidy increases they directly use it as an excuse to keep increasing their fees so you actually end up paying more when the CCS goes up. Shamelessly - when they give notice of their fee increases they mention it was driven by subsidy increases (that are meant to benefit parents! Not overseas shareholders). It is very unpleasant being ripped off so blatantly. They even charge their full fees for public holidays - despite not offering care on these days. This isn't regular practice at other centres. The high fees do not translate to any investment in the centre either. They are constantly short staffed and not following ratio. A lot of casual staff - some days it's completely casual staff and they don't even know your child's name. You don't know them either, yet they've been with your child all day - changing their nappies ect it's creepy. Food is low budget and I'm pretty sure they only employ one chef who has to make all of those meals. Most their toys seem to be donations from parents. Location is on a high risk intersection that has almost weekly car accidents (not even exaggerating) and makes it a pain to get in and out of their before and after work. The owners of this company are completely driven by profit. Do not go here - shop around. Try find somewhere closer to or below the $150 mark so as you can actually benefit from the CCS. We were paying over $500 a week when we were full time. That's not normal. Actual staff are lovely people, many of them whom we adore and love. These issues are through no fault of the staff on site.

My daughter had attended for 1.5 months and was happy to go. The room leader was lovely and my daughter liked her. An incident occurred in the Tiny Tots room when the room leader was off for the day - daughter’s nappy was not changed since the morning. When my partner picked her up she was crying and she was not able to walk properly. She was walking with her legs spread a part. When they arrived home her nappy was heavily soiled and full. She had severe rash to her inner thighs and groin. She was screaming in pain. I tried the bath which was not tolerated and resulted in bleeding to her groin area. Rash remained for several weeks. Poor communication between staff was the reason for not changing it. Absolutely neglectful. High ratio of children in the room. Can’t get basic needs of child met.

Caring staff who my son absolutely adored (Nursery at OAC Hawthorn). LOVED the updates via the ap (made leaving him that much easier) Efficient and friendly service from all areas of education and admin. I had to put my son into day care at 11 weeks and was a bit nervous but he absolutely thrived under the guidance of the amazing educators. I could not be happier..I just needed to move him to his big sisters day care for my own sake! But I am so sad to go. What a wonderful environment they have created.

I was certainly impressed by some of the staff, my concern was the high turn over. I know the childcare industry is facing labour shortages, but we found the staff turn over a challenge. It seemed once our child got to know a staff member well, it wouldn’t be long before they resigned. Fees are high, so I wish there was more focus on retaining staff.
