  “Visited this place for the first time today, and can’t recommend it enough. Our usual vet was unable to accommodate my dog for an eye issue, so I had to find an alternative. Whilst other practices either left you on hold, directed you to a voicemail, or answered the phone but told you to book online (spend the time creating a profile and verify email addresses only to find out there’s no appointments available), Rose the practice manager at Balwyn Central Vet actually went above and beyond to help. She was super kind on the phone; she won over my dog when she made the effort to comfort him and put him at ease when he was clearly anxious and growling at sudden noises in the waiting room; she had a tiny tiny baby possum she was caring for behind the desk as they rescue all kinds of wildlife and try not to turn anyone away; when there was a quiet moment between patients she proactively asked me about my pet insurance details to follow up the claim afterwards (in my experience other practices don’t usually lead with this and when I’ve asked the question, I’m usually subtly made to feel like I’m giving them extra work), but Rose went out of her way. The vet we saw, Meredith, was really lovely, and even though they were running slightly behind, she was still extremely thorough and calm and I didn’t at all feel like we were being rushed - it felt like she was invested and genuinely cared. As an added bonus, parking is very easy. Plenty of street parking, as well as the basement carpark underneath, with the lift up. All in all, a very positive experience! Will be returning in the future.”
