  “One of the oldest stops in Melbourne. And it feels like it. A single stop sign, at the tail end of what used to be the fashion district of this town. At this point on Route 78, you might as well get off and walk. And if you do get off, there's not a lot to hang around for. I would draw the tram rail aficionado to the split lines that were developed after the shift from rear facing carriages in the early 1960s. Apart from that, this is almost a stop without prominence. However, there is a tale underneath this wreck. I am not an expert on trains, or their stops, and normally wouldn't speak to that. (Although I have great deal of respect for those who do). However, when the lightest and heaviest of rails collide, I find myself obliged to acknowledge the darker Baron. Many years ago I was allowed under the tunnel at Windsor Station, and I now understand what a structural feat it was. Trains can come and go, but they certainly wouldn't without the brilliance of those engineers. JS, CM. A small plaque, but sadly not even visible to commuters. And I have to wonder why wouldn't you make it more visible? Or tell people? Typical train logic. Underneath, in their work, while pushing through a small mountain, these engineers also deigned themselves to preserve the true municipal light rail. And for that, they have my gratitude and respect. There is no doubt in my mind that they could have called an end to the tram stop. But they preserved it. The pathway of a train has never been my point of interest. Yet in this intersection I am reminded that the lightness could not exist without the dark. Kudos to those fine engineers. While the stop barely warrants a star, the tunnel below gives it all a five. Some rail engineers might have destroyed the tram stop. They bolstered it. So, when evaluating this stop, I am thinking more of those that made it stand than why it stands at all. And so, it gets my fullest rating. Enjoy.”
