Had such a great time wandering through Prahran Market. Came across some gorgeous little pumpkins and a bunch of unique, premium veggies you don’t usually see elsewhere. It was a really fun experience. The kind of place that makes shopping feel more like exploring. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into fresh produce with a bit of character.

If you love to cook and appreciate good quality ingredients, this is a must visit. Gourmet produce and everything looks so fresh and beautifully displayed. We bought some really good quality steak here. Prices are slightly higher, especially for vegetables, though I am not too familiar with local pricing. It is not touristy and not crowded. We visited on a weekday around 3pm. Initially we planned to have lunch here, but our earlier plans ran late, so we just bought some ingredients to cook dinner instead. Would love to return and spend more time here if I get the chance.

The communal seating area is a lovely space to sit and eat your food. Lots of hot food, cafe food, bakeries, fruit and veg and flowers on offer. Some vegan options if you look for it. I enjoy the dips, olives, pickles and bread from the deli area.

Prahran Market is one of those places you wander into “just for a look” and accidentally spend an hour exploring. I love how it feels both local and lively — fresh produce piled high, amazing cheeses, great deli items, and plenty of little food spots to discover. It’s clean, easy to wander, and full of stalls run by people who actually care about what they’re selling. Whether you’re grabbing ingredients or just soaking up the atmosphere, it’s always a good visit.

What a perfectly we'll formed market. I wish we'd discovered this earlier in our trip. The selection of foods and quality was incredible. I wish I lived close to a place like this. I'd shop there fir all my fruit and vegetables, as well as the fantastic cakes, pastries and sweets!
