★★★★★“A neat cosy restaurant. Friendly staff. The soy sauces were amazing. I prefer their udon over their donburi. Udon were nice and chewy, while the rice isn't the typical plump sticky Japanese style rice and it came cold, which was weird. The soft serve was smooth and creamy. Recommend making reservation. 10% weekend surcharge applies.”

★★★★★“One of the best Japanese restaurants in the Eastern suburbs. The place is minimalist in decor and service was impeccable. With a rich history in soy sauce making, you know the food will be good too. It certainly did not disappoint. Roasted wagyu was tender and melts in your mouth. Karaage chicken was juicy and probably one of the better ones outside of Japan. The onsen egg in the light soy sauce is divine! Staff will let you know which sauce is recommended for your dish. Slightly disappointed that the parfait was not available today but good reason for us to be back again!”

★★★★★“I recently dined at KAMADA and was genuinely impressed by the level of care and precision in every dish. From the beautifully presented appetizers to the perfectly executed mains, each plate showed real attention to detail and craftsmanship. The flavors were delicate yet deeply satisfying — everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-balanced. What really stood out to me were the tonkatsu and the wagyu udon. The tonkatsu was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, with a light and flavorful panko crust that made every bite addictive. The wagyu udon was equally impressive — rich, savory broth packed with umami, silky noodles, and melt-in-your-mouth wagyu slices that elevated the whole dish to another level. Both were easily the highlights of the meal. That said, one small thing worth noting: several dishes were so delicious that I found myself reaching for more, only to realize afterward that the soy sauce or seasoning might have been on the saltier side. I ended up drinking quite a bit of water, so if you’re sensitive to sodium, you might want to go easy on the dipping sauces or ask the staff to adjust the seasoning. Overall, KAMADA delivers a very high-quality Japanese dining experience. The food is refined, thoughtful, and genuinely enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back — just perhaps with a slightly bigger water glass next time! Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic, carefully prepared Japanese cuisine.”

★★★★★“Delicious sets and wide variety of choice. Lovely for a Sunday Brunch or weekday lunch and wide variety of dessert and parfait with seasonal fruit. The most delicious Matcha I've enjoyed in Melbourne. Tried: Fried Chicken Udon, Grilled Salmon Set and Pork Katsu Don. House Mochi with soft serve was dynamite.”

★★★★★“Very delicious authentic Japanese food. The wagyu was so tender and full of flavor, especially when mixed with their famous garlic soy sauce. The tonkatsu with egg and rice was also so delicious and generous serving. The staff were so friendly too, definitely coming back. Highly recommend.”
