Surprising little cafe for decent Japanese lunch. Fried tofu jap curry on rice was flavoursome, tofu was light and not oily. Chicken katsu was crunchy perfectly crumbed. Sushi nigiri and sushi rolls were ok but unremarkable.

Finally got to try Kai dining. 🍱'Song of the Sea': chef's selection sashimi, nigiri, potato salad, mentaiko onigiri, pickles, cold tofu with goma dressing. 🍱 'zara udon': cold udon with homemade dipping sauce, tempura prawn, marinated diced sashimi 🍣'love at first bite' sushi: California roll, seared salmon, spicy mayo, kabayaki sauce, fish roe, spring onion 🍣' rainbow roll' sushi: California roll, salmon, tuna, ebi, spicy mayo, fish roe. 🍵matcha latte ☕️ice long black with yuzu and honey The tempura prawns from the Zara udon is amazing! Never had tempura batter like this before, it looks like rice bubbles but it isn't? Nicely fried and goes so well with the udon noodles. The sauce has a yuzu flavour as well which surprised me, enjoyed this combination very much. Sushi rolls were large portions, amazing, would try other flavours next time as we realize both the sushi was a California roll based.

Awesome little restaurant, service was delightful and food was exceptional for the type of restaurant. High quality product for a fair price. Would 100% go again, the indoor space is a bit tight but they manage it well.

We had Mentaiko Salmon Bento and a normal Salmon Bento with a Salmon Nigiri. Awesome food. Freshly salmon sashimi screaming for real wasabi. Beautiful miso soup. Awesome. We opted out of the Karage chicken because it's prepared with an ingredient that we can't have. But we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
