Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants ever. Simple food but done so well. The kitchen they cook out of for what they produce has to been seen to be believed. If you’re in the area, this has to be on the list!

A new addition to Melbourne’s Italian dining scene, Julietta had been on my list ever since I saw it pop up on Instagram as Mamasita’s newest venture. I booked a mid-week dinner with a couple of girlfriends, and while the night started off a little disappointing, it thankfully improved as the evening went on. The restaurant is quite small, and when we arrived at 7pm, we found ourselves waiting awkwardly behind another group without being acknowledged by staff. After around 10 minutes, we had to get someone’s attention ourselves, and we weren’t seated until 7:15pm. Definitely not the best first impression. Once settled in though, the experience became much more enjoyable. We started with cocktails and I loved the creativity of their Negroni menu — the Negroni Rosa was delicious. For food, we shared the green olives, fennel salami and eye fillet tonnato with caper berries, followed by the cacio e pepe fazzoletti, the 8-hour bianco ragu tagliatelle, and the spanner crab radiatori. Everything was delicious and the food came out quickly, which we appreciated. Dessert was the chocolate budino with olive oil and salt, which ended up being one of my favourite dishes of the night. The interiors are beautiful — eclectic, detailed and warm, with a colour palette that gives the space a classic Italian wine bar feel. While I really enjoyed the experience overall, I’m not sure the food felt particularly different from many other Italian wine bars currently in Melbourne. Still, definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Amazing food. Perfect drinks and even better service. Cacio e pepe was the stand out out of the 3 pastas we had

Had the birthday dinner here. Everything was honestly so good the food, the atmosphere, and especially the staff who were all so sweet and welcoming. They made the night feel really special. Will definitely be coming back again soon!
