  “I had a really disappointing experience Prahran Square Family Clinic. I booked a telehealth appointment purely to get a medical certificate, as my usual doctor wasn’t available and I needed something urgently. The consult itself took under six minutes it was extremely straightforward, essentially just confirming details for the certificate. Based on the pricing listed on their website, a brief consult (under six minutes) is advertised at $57. However, I was charged $94 for a standard consult instead. When I queried this, I was told that because the doctor allegedly spent more than six minutes writing up the certificate, it was classified as a standard consult. This doesn’t make much sense, especially considering the certificate was being completed during the call and would have been a basic template. Reception was not helpful at all in resolving the issue, and the doctor also insisted the full fee was justified. I was told I would receive a higher rebate, but that still leaves me out of pocket by about $20 more than expected — which defeats the point. What’s most frustrating is being told that “no consult really ends up being the brief amount.” If that’s the case, then the pricing on the website is misleading and should be updated. I only booked based on the expectation of a short, low-cost telehealth consult. Overall, the lack of transparency around pricing and the unwillingness to address a reasonable concern was very disappointing. I won’t be returning.”

  “When we first moved to Melbourne, we missed our regular GP and Pead. After meeting Dr Waseema Tabassum, I can honestly say we have found our Australian equivalent. Dr Waseema is patient, empathetic and professional. She has assisted myself in diagnosing a skin condition. She took the time to perform a biopsy and then referred me to a dermatologist. She is thorough in all he examinations and consultations and I have absolute confidence in her ability. She is really great with children and I have seen that in her interaction and treatment of my 7 year old daughter. Defintely refer Dr Waseema to anyone looking for a reliable GP.”

  “i went in today for a blood test to check my iron levels after an infusion, and the doctor that took my blood in pathology was a bit shocking, she greeted me with a hello and double checked my details but otherwise there were no words exchanged. she was grabbing what she needed from the drawers and throwing it into the kidney dish which i thought was a little unnecessary. i got my arm out and was asked to make a fist and she barely looked around for 10 seconds for a vein, just put the needle straight in with no warning, no breath, no nothing. it was really painful but i just looked the other way till it was over. she saw me squirming and did not ask me if i was ok, just continued silently. when she took the needle out i turned my head back and there was blood dripping down my arm, down the chair, and in the bin beside me. i don’t think that’s normal, but she didn’t acknowledge it. just taped it up and got me to sign the form, to which i couldn’t even hold the pen as my blood was taken from my right hand. only then did she ask me if i was alright as i was struggling to grip the pen and sign my initials. i left just feeling a bit startled as i have never had an experience like this before.”
