No table service definitely deducting some points for that. Give you the vibrating square and expect you to grab your own meals which is a problem when it’s a three story seating arrangement. Parking to establishment walk is a downhill uphill walk no chance this is good for disabled people Food was great and generous for the price. Just decided to sit right in front of where meals are served to save myself having to walk downstairs holding coffee and having to walk upstairs to retrieve my food? Foolish decision hire runners Terrible view from the top floor above the patio, but all I could be bothered with It could be so nice the atmosphere is great

It’s a very nice place. This was our second visit and we enjoyed the atmosphere once again. When the weather is nice, it’s lovely to sit in the garden and watch people getting on the boats, or you can join a boat ride yourself. Overall, it’s a great spot to have a pleasant day. However, despite being very busy and popular, the prices feel a bit high considering the menu mostly offers quite basic options. It would be even better if the prices were a little more reasonable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming 🌸

Went here for lunch on a nice sunny day and the scenery is beautiful! However the place was packed because of this and we waited one hour for our food. They were busy so I can forgive that, but here you also need to go and grab the food yourself like a fast food resturant, which you aren't told till after you pay. So if you are sitting outside, you need to walk back upstairs to the "grill" area and grab your own dishes and back down stairs to your own table. Oh, and don't forget your cutlery! The staff are kind but not very attentive, one helped me bring my meals to the table but we asked another for napkins and all they did was refill a self serve station and didn't say anything. When I brought my plate back and bit into my $22 "mushroom and brie toastie", it was basically empty! The toast was cooked perfectly I will say, but you would think for that price and after such a long wait, you would ensure quality in all aspects of the meal, especially filling the sandwich. I haven't tried the canoeing along the river here, but I can't recommend coming here for the food, especially if they are busy. Maybe if you come in an off period and sit right next to the kitchen, and don't order the toasties; it was definitely a rip off. Also their cocktails were very small. It wasn't all bad, but I think it has fallen in quality, I don't plan on coming back.

Visited this boathouse in Fairfield for lunch last week. Didn’t have a booking but managed to get a table for two of us. Ordered food and drinks and they were ready within a reasonable time. Moderately busy place and booking is recommended.

Such a peaceful and natural environment! The café is surrounded by trees and the river, making it a perfect spot to unwind. It’s a self-service system, you order at the front desk, get a buzzer, and pick up your food when it’s ready. There are plenty of spots to sit, two floors with lots of outdoor areas where you can enjoy the view. You’ll see people rowing, biking, and strolling along the riverbank, which adds to the relaxing vibe. You can also spot many birds. Highly recommend for a weekend brunch or a quiet coffee by the water.
