  “We popped in for lunch craving some Mexican. The front dining room felt a bit fast foody, but the garden out the back had some nice afternoon sun and was much more relaxed. We both had fajitas, Stacey went for steak and I had the chicken, and they were really tasty. The only downside was they came with just three tortillas. An extra one or two would have made it perfect. Otherwise, all good 🌮”

Every time I visit, the food is consistently fresh, flavourful, and made with so much care. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, buzzing atmosphere that feels welcoming but still relaxed. The space is bright, modern, and always lively without feeling overwhelming. The food is the real star here. Their tacos are honestly some of the best in Melbourne — perfectly seasoned, generous portions, and always packed with flavour. The beef, chicken, and veggie options are all amazing, and each taco is balanced with fresh toppings that make every bite perfect. The nachos are another standout, loaded but not messy, with crispy chips, fresh salsa, and the right amount of cheese. The quesadillas are super cheesy, crispy on the outside, and absolutely delicious. No matter what I order, the quality is always the same: fresh ingredients, great flavour, and clearly made with care. The staff deserve a huge mention. They’re friendly, fast, and genuinely seem happy to be there. They check on you at the right times, take time to explain the menu, and never make you feel rushed. Even when the restaurant is packed, they still manage to keep the service quick and consistent. It’s rare to find a place where the staff stay this upbeat and attentive during busy hours. La Cabra is also excellent value for money. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality is well above average. Whether you’re dining in, grabbing takeaway, or ordering delivery, everything arrives hot, fresh, and well-packaged. Overall, La Cabra Hawthorn is a place I can always rely on for an amazing meal and great service. Whether you’re craving tacos, nachos, quesadillas, or just a fun place to hang out with friends, this spot delivers every single time. Absolutely deserves 5 stars!”

  “La Cabra has such a vibrant atmosphere, seriously tasty food, and top-notch service! We tried the chicken, pulled pork, and fish burritos—plus churros for dessert—and not a single complaint from me. The burritos packed a spicy punch that nearly took out my Italian friend (RIP Ari), but my partner and I were loving every bite. And yes, the place is absolutely *riddled* with cheesy puns... but honestly, the food was so good, I’ll forgive them.”
